I am happy with the chain plates and glad I decided to cut them down, the lowers are angled slightly to match the pull angle. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b294/tha3rdman/tn_IMG_1048.jpg And a more recent shot, she's on the hard now but it's about time to launch again :D http://i21.photobucket.c...

I chose matterhorn white for it's subtle grey tone, snow white it lean tward the blue, If you get a chance checkout the color card, any place that uses/sells it should have one. Nope awlgrip Matterhorn White is the color I would use again. As a side note, if your rolling it, test out the paint w/ th...

I think a 1 hour minimum labor is fair. I dont know your situation but I've done a lot of stupid things to boat that owners are to lazy to do, and if they are, and I do, then 1 hour minimum. Now getting charged for stuff thats not done or gouged, different story, and why I dont goto Jiffy lube any m...

I dunno that makes no sense to me, I was always told you want the weight on the keel, and the hull was just to stablize. I could be worng hgave been before but not having it on the keel sound like bad juju. The Ariel is the same keel design as the triton, we've never tied straps and never even came ...

TIMBER!! Bent up the mast track...

Having worked in a yard the last two springs, I'm confused. Was the strap aft of the rudder? IE not on the keel?

Our yard uses some poly foam pads, that work great, I can imagine not using any sort of protection, sonds like a good way to put some heavy scuffs in paint/gel coat.

Here too used 3M spot putty 20 bucks a tube, put it on in coats, as it will shrink when it cures. Dont do as a did and just pile it up in a attempt to make sure there was enough to compensate for the cure, it just makes more work.

We are just indescisive, and look for some opinions, what all who voted and commented help immensly, I belive we'll be going with absum, White letters ...

I love my in-law, the wife was the driving factor behind the name, because both are old and falling apart. So Absum really seems to be the ticket, orignal, classy, and hidden meaning.

My favorite thing to do (well I only did it once but I'd do it again) FRP wall board from Homedepo/Lowes (for shower stalls) use the good liquid nail, not the latex frp glue crap.

I chose to lay new glass versus reusing the old skins, 12 inch "tape" was really nice, not havint to deal with the frayed edges, but the edges of the tape were thicker then the glass, and created gaps, may want to cut it so it layes better then next layer, move the seam so thay are not sta...
