On the subject of lines, Bruce Hallman did a Freeship drawing on the Triton for me, posted at his Flicker site http://flickr.com/photos/hallman/3111064042/in/photostream/ When I built my new rudder I carried out the bottom rather to give a little more area. http://tritonclass.org/mir/144ps2.jpg HJ

I haven't posted for a while but I thought I would throw in a WC comment on keels. As commented the WC keels were encapsulated from the start but I don't think they were wide. They were able to build the narrow aft piece of the keel as part of the boat and not an after thought because the hull was b...

I have thought about the mini itx option, you can custom build the case to fit about anywhere. The display is the issue, most LCD's are DC but finding touch screen weather resistant ones is difficult and very expensive. Most people don't build there own PC's either, though it is not difficult. My cu...

My WC Triton #144 is the tenth WC built if the number breakout is right and it is a ton lighter than the first WC boats. As I have mentioned earlier it weighed in at 7,000 on two different scales when I moved it north with engine, all standing and running riging, approximately 300lbs of anchors chai...

It appears that the WC mast is consistantly right at 35', the same as a EC MH rig. This is probably because of the greater winds in SF Bay. The other consistant differance other than the non cored decks and fiberglass coamings, is lighter scantlings. WC hulls appear to be quite a bit lighter except f...

Mast Height
There is a thread going on the Triton Yahoo list on mast height. Apparantly there is a differance btween WC/EC on this? I thought that I had read that all Triton masts were around 35' and I just measured mine and it came in at 35'1"(WC #144). Somebody stated that EC boats are closer to 37', is ...

Yea I am talking about molded in pattern which has been painted over some time in the past. What kind of tools? I had planned on a random orbit with 60-80 grit and the vacuum hooked up to, has worked pretty good in the past. I have used an air disk sander for a bit on the bottom, I am not sure about...

I have Triton #144 a WC Triton and it is much lighter than the norm. I gather from owner reports that the early WC Triton's were very heavily built, especialy the first few. later numbers are much lighter. Triton #144
I have acquired Triton #144 a WC boat. Bought it in San Diego, had it trucked to Bellingham where I joined it to a trailer that I found in South Whidbey thanks to a link from somebody on this site. I got it to Juneau on the ferry. It turns out to be a much modified Triton in rig and the interior whi...

I was raised with kerosene lanterns, we didn't have electricity. By wicking fuel do you mean that the fuel level slowly goes down, or fuel actual comes out? A kerosene lamp will slowly evaporate kerosene through the wick, but it shouldn't be noticable. Lowering the wick will slow this process up. If...

Having been steered towards the ramblings comment on this boat by a member (thank you Britton) I see that I did not know the rest of the story!! I want a trailer anyway, so I can park it the front yard and work on it. Get a lot more done than down at the docks. I had made an offer on a Triton (455) in Juneau that needed a lot of work, the biggest deal being a deck recore. My offer was not accepted. While looking through ebay offerings and deciding that I didn't want to bid on the 1916 Herreshoff NY 40 that was pushing $300,000 I discovered item 4587719595 ...

When Tim was redoing his cockpit scuppers he needed to make a larger hole with a hole saw. As there was already a hole there the drill guide had nothing to drill into so Tim filled the hole and then drilled it out larger. Second it is a mast head rig with no jumpers. The mast step is non standard and it appears the base is a...
