I'm talking about the plastic blocks with the two screws that all your live feed's are going into, I had those on the previous electrical system of my boat and they melted into a glob of plastic with a short!
My understanding is that they are bad practice?

Well, as it turned out it wasn't a lake of diesel, it was a lake of water with some residual diesel in it! More on that in a bit. I'd definitely go for it! My opinion (and its just that) is that outboards excepted a petrol engine has no place on a yacht, Apart from the obvious fire risk, (You always seem to end up with fuel in the bilge at some point... flammable vapours... no thanks!) they're less economical (less of a proble...

The storm jib hanks will chafe the Dyneema - best to use stainless. Dyneema is lighter and stronger for the same diameter though... Well time for an update! I've pretty much finished the fuel system now, there's a few problems I need to iron out, I'll explain later in the post. Its not grit, its like a thick ooze, you'd sink up to your waist at least if you fell in.

I mean't that because the early GRP ones were built before designers understood the full strength of the material, the hull layup was a lot thicker then on the later hulls which saved a lot of weight with less glass fibre.

A flying fifteen was my first boat (Barring an optimist dinghy), I had the 10th hull built in GRP, build like a brick outhouse they are!

They're very good sailing boats and a blast to sail, I paid £100 for mine with a trailer when I was 15 :) Memories :)
