Neat little boat, what is it?

Hi All
I saw a mystery boat today that really caught my eye. I took my kayak out, the wind was howling but I keep to the windward shore. Then I see this pretty little boat. It’s 28ft max(kayak measured my boat is 15ft) canoe stern, fake lap strake, bronze oval ports, stern hung rudder with tiller. But the really unique item was the aft cabin in this little ship!

Naturally I didn’t have the camera with me. If the weather calms down a little tomorrow morning I see if it still there and get a pic.

Sounds like a Nor'Sea 27. it is available with an aft or center cockpit.

I think you're right, Al.
She's a Lyall Hess design, as was my Montgomery 17.

That’s the one! Naturally the first boat to really turn my head in many months costs 150K new for 27ft! Heck I checked YachtWorld and a 1978 is asking $45K! But I think that aft cabin is so cool, then I could be biased since my HT is an aft cabin design:)

My wife says it all, Champagne taste on a beer budget:(
Another boat off my list.
Thanks

Well, that lapstrake hull will keep you awake all night with all the little lapping and gurgling noises it makes ... just about drove me nuts in the M-17 !

Yep, you can console yourself with that about the lapstrakes if you can't afford one (I had an M-17 too).

Well a little slap slap is a small price to pay for a beautiful boat. I thought I saw a blog or something about a guy fitting out an M-17 for serious off shore work. I’m a little nuts but that’s a few bricks short even in my book:)

There's an M 17 way out across the Pacific now, on a circumnav. I don't know the website, but he's almost to, or has reached Australia I think.

The NS 27 would be a heckuva offshore boat

I must admit, there are times when I miss my old M-17 (sniff).

I see there is a Norsea 27 hull and deck for sale on ebay ... never been splashed.
