No, I don't mean the plastic boats from Rhode Island.

The resurgence of the old America's Cup J class boats, including the new replica Ranger, is one of the more exciting developments in the "wish I had money" world of sailing. Few boats can match the ultimate grace, style, and beauty of these gorgeous creatures.

Look at the power displayed in this photo of Ranger in Antigua. Who wouldn't give a spare internal organ to have a chance to sail on one of these yachts?

I really rather a Hinkley South Wester or one of those Oyster 66 's, had I an orgarn properly priced to spare.. Nice pic though, I'd give a tooth for a good day like that.

Ranger. Reminds me of one of those unending phone conversations with Roger Winiarski where (among a the thousand other skip-along topics) he invariably mentions that Ranger's original mainsheet was a mile in length.
One fights the urge to blurt out "Kinda like this conversation, eh Roger? Really, I just want to order those turnbuckles..."
