I bought an Alberg!

The story of Glissando has mesmerized me for a long time (3.5 years?).

I have scoured the South for a boat worthy of such attention and think I finally found it. I hope so because I bought it!

I think I got lucky, but have yet to actually see it myself. I would like to thank Tim and Rachel for all the advice they have given me. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I am young and foolish enough to believe great things are possible!

Here is the marine survey. Others might find it interesting. I had never seen one before. By the way, a good marine surveyor is gold! He answered lots of stupid questions in a kind and forthright manner.

Well, hot damn. I skimmed the survey and didn't see anything unexpected. You've a good deal of work ahead of you, but a lot of fun as well. Opening all those bags of gear and figuring out what goes where sounds like big-boy's-christmas for sure!

Good on ya!

Thanks for posting the survey, it was interesting to read.

Good luck with the restoration, it looks like you will have a beautiful boat when you are done.

I think the boat is as close to a steal at the price as one could ever be, particularly if the reported "nearly new" sails work out well, and depending on the other gear. It's the lowest price A30 I can recall seeing, and not in any worse shape than some I have seen for 5 times the price.

Enjoy! (Hopefully, since it seems I may have culpability here...hehe)
