Engine Bay sound insulation

Post by Tony »

Tim,
Do you happen to know or know where I might find the STC (Sount Transmission Coefficient) of the Lead insulation you used for the engine bay on Glissando? I'm trying to compare it with a material made by Auralex.

Thanks
Tony

My material came from Soundown via Hamilton Marine.

www.soundown.com

I don't see the product I purchased in the Hamilton catalog anymore; all they have is the "lead substitute" products. I'll try and find my slip so I can get you a product description. Meanwhile, check the Soundown website for info--perhaps there are specs there.

Thanks Tim, I checked out their specs...no STC, but there are other ways to compare. Do you remember what it cost, roughly?

Thanks
Tony
