Talk about favorite or hated suppliers, recommend good materials or sources, or anything of the same ilk. This is also a good place to suggest unique ideas and innovations you may have come up with.
shows the side windows on our French Elite 32. I need to replace these this year and if I can find someone local will remove the existing, drive them over, have new ones made usin the old as templates and then replace.
If not or if too pricey, I will follow same steps, but make my own using the template and a router with a bearing bit. My issue is this - finding acrylic sheets in 11ft lengths - actual size max height 18". overall length 11ft - may just fit diagonally on a 4ft x 10ft sheet but thats very wasteful.
Almost any area has plastics suppliers who will zip those out for you in a jiffy, and should have access to the size material you need.
Is that a seam that I see in your picture, forward of the "For Sale" sign and aft of the other piece of paper taped to the window? Maybe it's only a reflection or something. Choosing to create a new seam, should it be necessary, might be another option; seam the material over one of the solid areas between the cutouts.
You almost have to find the plexiglass locally, as shipping charges would be annoying on such large stock if you bought the raw materials elsewhere. It's easy enough to cut out your own if you can find the stock, but usually the price to have it done is not much more, if any. And it will quite possibly be a wasteful use of material, as you mentioned, depending on the size.
McMaster-Carr has stuff up to 8' sheets, but nothing bigger (at least in the catalog).

That, is the crack (one on each side no less) that dictates replacement. Thanks for the input, I had thought about going the 2 (3) window route a-la BenaHuntaLina, but a lot will depend on whats underneath there when I remove the existing windows.
Calling round this week to see what the state of play is with glass shops in the area of the marina as that would suit us best, fingers crossed ...
