wood swim ladder

Post by Scout »

Being a traditioanlist, I just bought one for Scout thru Ebay. Now I am having a hell of a time finding mounting hardware. I have found several sources for the mount that you attach to the gunnel but no one seems to sell what you would attach to the ladder that fits into the slot on the gunnel.

Any hints? Tim, have this in one of these on your shelf?

Well, even though I'm not sure exactly what you need, I'm afraid I have nothing of the sort!

I assume you're talking about the strappy thingies on the left.
Here ya go. Scroll 'bout halfway down the page. $20 seems like a good deal to me.

I went to check that hardware out - since I'm a sucker for anything bronze - no, make that Bronze!

Turns out it's a new kind of stainless, actually:
Titan Tuff? Gold is a new PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) processed stainless steel which has a rich brass/gold appearance, is three (3) more times abrasion resistant than chrome, easier to clean than stainless steel, highly resistant to corrosion, stands up to any household cleaner and has a 20-year finish guarantee.
What do you want to bet it develops crevice corrosion just as fast as regular stainless...

Also, I believe that the small ladder hinges or the pad-eyes can be had for $20 per set, but the full kit (which is the only way they show to get the long bits on the left) is $70.

Okay, I sound grumpy don't I? Sigh.

Figment, that is it! I ordered the pad eyes yesterday, the straps are already on the ladder.

Rachel, a pair of padeyes are $11.00. I got two pair for both sides. The whole set costs $50.00. I spoke to ABI directly and they put me in touch with a marine supply place that distributes.

And the beat goes on....I'll be back!
