Tank Vents

Post by Dan »

I am looking for tank vents to go through the deck. The only ones I can find are for decks 7/8" maxium thickness.
I need vents for a deck that has a thickness of 1". The vents are for the fresh water and the waste water tanks.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

Vents aren't normally installed in the horizontal portions of decks, as the possibility of runoff from rain or seas getting into the vent and down to the tank is quite high. It's best to install any vent fitting in a vertical area of the hull or deck.

Since these vertical areas tend to be thinner material (i.e not cored), the vents don't need to be as long, which is one reason you might be having trouble finding what you need.

That said, I did find the Perko 0561DP4CHR that lists a hull thickness of 1". It's a fuel tank vent, but can be used for any tank. Do a search for this model number and you will find a few hits.
