So I'm in my carport getting ready to depart for my daily work on boat ritual, and I glance over at my sprinkler system and have an epiphany.
A few years ago I had installed a water resistant box made by Rainbird to enclose my automatic sprinkler control. You know the type, gray plastic, costs about $15. The box contains a 110v AC electrical outlet and a mounting board (wires can be run behind the board) for the control unit. The door of the box has a rubber gasket and a place for a little padlock.
Could this be the perfect little enclosure for electrical stuff inside a cockpit locker? You wouldn't have to worry about throwing wet lines and gear on top of connections. (Obviously you wouldn't want to use one for something that heats up, like a charger.) I think they come in a variety of sizes, including the big ones for cable TV.

A box like that would work fine, as long as it didn't have to necessarily be 100% waterproof--just like about anything else you might install on board.
I have a similar box (in the cabin) for my instrument wires under the mast step.
