Wiring Chafe Grommets

Post by FloatingMoneyPit »

What are folks using for chafe protection of electrical wires passing through bulkheads? West Marine stopped carrying the flexible white "cut your own circumference" stuff, which was probably too narrow for 3/4" bulkheads anyway (but great for mast cables). I notice Tim has used short lengths of hose & cable ties on the Daysailor.
Are there any other commonl acceptable methods? I wonder what the better yards do for this?

Also, my mast has what look like very small white thru-hulls for the same anti-chafe purpose. Maybe 3/8" inner diameter. I have no idea where to get them for new wiring holes in the mast, but they're quite suitable for the purpose. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
