forum post count

I was searching for someone in the forum members list and I noticed something odd with the total posts count. For some individuals they seem much too low.

For example, Brock, I know you have made more than 124 posts. Jeff (Kaynee) is stratospherically higher than 10. I did a quick search for other user names thinking maybe there were changes in registration names that reset the count but it still doesn't add up.

This definitely belongs in the 'Rambling' section. Imagine being concerned about something as petty as post counts ...

My counts are off because I have 2 id's - I stopped using the email address associated with the first one and forgot the PW, so I enrolled with a new id, so I am not really bipolar unless I am MarkWilme and Mark.Wilme of course.

No, I think the post counts are accurate. Jeff/Kaynee never posted much here at all, and I'd say Brock's count seems accurate too.

You're really just amazed that these people are so far beneath your own healthy post count...you just had to show off, didn't you? :<)

I wasn't trying to impress anyone with my post count. Honest. In fact I think the high count tends to work against me. If you all are honest with me then you must admit that the first time you noticed the thread count you instantly though "Blabber mouth".

I guess I assumed the others should have a higher post count because they have/were here much longer than me. Seems like yesterday I was graduating from a bottom sanding grunt myself.

Funny, I still seem to ask the most amateurish questions.

Oh, and I keep getting off forum complaints about my avatar so I have been trying to rectify the problem - unsuccessfully apparently.

The socks link was Nathan's actually. I would revert except I can't remember the link address now.

Geez Tim, you aren't helping! I think we can all agree that Britton has been spending waaaay too much time worrying about his avatar, rather than working on his boat!

I for one am expecting to see him up here next summer for some Laphroigh aboard Prudence, so he'd better get crackin'!

Yes. I actually grew to like the original name (a little 'Prudence' is always a good thing to have at sea...) but it is way too old lady-ish for a boat that will look brand new when I paint the new name on. My other issue is that calling a bridge tender always brought back a 'Say again your vessels name?" comment.

As a warning to others, if you are thinking about naming your boat after a female member of your family don't ask her permission first unless you are really sure you want to do it. I mentioned naming my boat after my sister and she got little tears in the corner of her eyes and promptly named her new horse after me. I think I am committed now.

I think my mental facilities are on leave as well. It seemd more humorous when I wrote it - blusox - Blue Socks (in honour of you famous Avatar - the holy blue socks).

Probably best to keep your sisters name on the boat. Perhaps your tender could be called Avatar? It might be a more fitting name for a smaller boat anyways.

Besides the blue socks reference, any other geeks rembemer the animated Ralph Bakshi movie "Wizards", from the 70's. Avatar was the good wizard. Cool name.

I just got it. The coloring is wrong though. The original socks were green. I might still have them around somewhere...

They look blue on my monitor. Geensox doesn't quite cut it. If we translate it to french it's "chausette verte" which works better (I think that's the translation - I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will correct me).

Those socks are definately keepers. They're famous.

They do look kinda blue. They were green once.

I think the opportunity to decou... however-you-spelled-it has passed. Old clothing tends to get turned into epoxy rags if they sit around too long here.
