It was pretty ungly this weekend. Fortunately, we went to Victoria this weekend, as Nanaimo had considerably more snow. My father inlaw said he measured 2 feet at his house.
Hopefully we're done with snow for the season here. For once, we can't complain about the weather here in Maine. It has been gorgeous for the last couple of weeks!! (Not rubbing it in - really!)
This was the most unusual April I have ever seen here on Vancouver Island. The cherry and plum trees in full blossom, and almost a foot of heavy snow on the ground. We woke saturday morning with the power out to the sound of an enormous branch slowly breaking off a big maple behind the house. APRIL 19th for crying out loud. And they call this "Lotus land"?

I have to get my survey/insurance/documentation ducks in a row first. I'm shooting for mid-June if all goes as planned. Yeah, we are very excited about launching the new boat. We have a couple small shakedown cruises planned for June, and then it's off to Maine right after the fourth. We shall hook up for sure!
Here in Southern Ontario, it's been in the 20's Celsius and sunny for about a week! I took the covers off the boat yesterday and am getting her ready for launch next week. I've got my fingers crossed for launch day as rain and a high of 12 degrees Celsius are predicted!
