BTW, I didn't write the article. It was written about me by a friend who never posts on this board, though he's registered.

With all affection for GOB and respect for the author, I must say that the article didn't quite live up to the topic.

I am still waiting for the Restoration of Glissando to be published by the way. It would be so much easier to grab a book off the shelf than to fire up the computer everytime I need to reference something.

I was actually thinking about retiring my subscription to GOB. I love the target audience but I don't find much valuable information in the articles these days. Frankly, this forum has much better information.

Mike, you have been pretty quiet lately. That must be because you have recently rebuilt your interior to showroom standards :-)

I sanded the hull down to nearly-nothing from the waterline down right after haulout. Haven't touched it since.

I second that, but.... have you ever seen a profile of a person that didn't prominently feature a photograph of the individual? I guess Tim must be a little camera shy ;-)

No one came to take my picture! And I don't photograph myself too often, so there you have it! (Plus--and this gives you an "insider's" view of the editorial process--the editor at large waited till the last second before contacting the article's author about pictures and changes!)

Besides, the article's better without a picture of me anyway.

You could have just sent along this one...

Your photoshop tinkering prompts me to ask: What ever happened to that woodcarving-type image of the New Yankee BoatShop sign? That was a good one!

The Legend is pervasive.

My absence from the NETA get together was due to my prior commitment to cook for the Commodore's Dinner at my YC. Early in the afternoon a few of us found ourselves at the block slicing 50lbs of onions for the soup, talking boats throught the tears, trying to leave fingertips attached. Eventually the conversation winds its way around to "A Triton, eh? Y'know there's this guy who rebuilt a Triton and did a whole website..."
The guy on the other side of the block jumps in "oh yeah Good Old Boat did a thing on him a while back too, you really ought to look him up if you're doing that kind of work to your boat."

For a brief minute, the tears were not caused by the onions.

Talk about dragging up an old thread! The master strikes again.

I sure hope you set those guys straight.

Yes, I assured the guys that I was at least a half-step ahead of them. The very notion that I'd tackle half of what I've done to the boat without doing enough research to have discovered the world of Triton381 was simply hilarious, and that laugh could not have come at a better time.
Even in my half-assed catering days I'd never cooked for such a crowd, the club's kitchen hadn't really been "tested" since its renovation, my staff of volunteers had FAR more enthusiasm than skill, and my trusty sous-chef was 2 hours late and counting... man a 5 hour drive to Whitefield was looking more and more attractive by the minute!

Speaking of the world of Triton381, I notice that the lackeysailing site has had some nice work done recently. I assume that the webmaster has been lavishly compensated.
