Where is Glissando now???

Since Glissando isn't going in the water this year, thanks to my house-building project, and since we moved and sold our house in North Yarmouth, where she was stored, she obviously needed to be moved.

Now, traveling to Whitefield isn't Steve Morse's (my boat hauler) favorite thing to have on his list right now, but he was fortunately able to pick her up one day last week and transport her to his shop in a non-descript area of New Gloucester, ME.

Since it's often challenging to get hold of Steve on the phone, I managed to find out where his elusive shop was from another person who had visited there, and last evening we drove over to check her out and make sure all was OK. We were in the area, relatively speaking, since we had to come down to close on the house sale.

The boat looks good, but I don't know when Steve will be able to bring her home to Whitefield. I'd certainly prefer that she was right here where I could keep an eye on her, so keep your fingers crossed that she'll be home soon. She's got to be feeling a little neglected at the moment, stuck away in some random place...

She looks good, but I wonder if you want to add a few jackstands just for good measure. Two per side seems like skimping.

She's always had just two per side.

Lookin beautiful. Sure, she misses you! I moved my new toy into my driveway yesterday, and it's a treat to see her from the kitchen window. Heck of a dock.

Tim, I've probably missed it, but are you going to share progress on the new house? Then again, perhaps these pages are your escape from that adventure.

I am documenting the process online. I will be happy to send the link to anyone who emails me and asks. [email protected]

Tim, what a fun read...up to May 9. Takes me back to the early days with Bob Vila on This Old House, Norm and Yankee Workshop, not to mention the Woodwright Shop...witness you peeling that log, etc. A credit to your writing, I felt as if I was slogging thru the mud with you. Given your penchant for documenting your work, I've got a sneaky feeling I'll have the good fortune of seeing your house go up on a TV documentary. Well done!

In a way I feel in the same "boat". No berths available for my new to me Santana, and my house needs serious attention. For now I trying to consider the future use of the boat as the prize for taking care of the homefront first.

Edit of June 20: The look of those giant rafters and ridgepole are a sight to behold! Glad your appeal/apology to the weather gods is working.

I'm happy to report that Glissando is safe and sound in Whitefield, at last--a little dirtier than I prefer, but otherwise in good condition and happy to be home!

The boats are really starting to stack up here. This makes 5.

Are you sure you'll have enough space up there this winter? ;-P

The more the merrier. That's why I bought all this land, after all.

One boat per acre seems reasonable... so I guess you've got room for more.

I have another Triton inside (customer-owned) that's due for major interior, cosmetic, and systems work this fall and winter. She can be seen in some of the photos in the "trailer" thread from a day or two ago.
