For Heather's law school graduation, her mother commissioned a watercolor of our boat.

This is a terrible photo (through glass, etc) but you get the idea.

Anybody besides Tim recognize the location? Britton?

Merchant Harbor.

You are about 20 feet from my spot from the 2005 Bachelor's cruise.

I am a bit confused however because the background off the stern in the painting looks a bit different from what I remember.

The Bach cruise was the first time I went into that harbor. It was a great spot, as is the whole Merchant Row area. I will be back.

It's one of my favorite spots. It can be a bit rolly, but I love Harbor Island and the view out toward Merchant Row.

I could spend my whole cruise in Merchant's Row.

While we're at it, I always liked this photo, taken from the island in the background of Nathan's new watercolor during the same cruise. Britton anchored too far away for his boat to make the photo, unfortunately. (Geez, Britton...)

Put those shiny new sails and instruments to good use and sail that boat to Maine, then. We'll open the gates to allow you in; we just want to keep out the stinkpots and lobster-pot whiners.

I tried to get him up here last summer, but he pleaded some real-world commitments that prevented him from making the trip.

Frankly, I think he's just chicken! Bwak bwak!

C'mon Mike, if you're here in August we can enjoy a Beertini and preseason Patriots on the radio in some remote and lovely anchorage! None of my other sailing friends actually like football... sigh.

I couldn't possibly scrape together enough vacation time to get there and back. If I'm leaving the boat in Maine for the winter, I might as well have someone rebuild the interior for me. Someone is already booked for the winter, however, so you see I simply can't make it happen. =)

We must also consider this; once I get there I may never leave, and I get the impression that Maine is being overrun with Southerners as it is. I'm not sure you guys really want to risk it.

Next on Nathan's Winter Worklist: Fit a Triton-sized version of Randall The Enamel Animal into the cool deep bilge of Dasein.

I think Nathan should put the Animal in the hanging locker and plumb it into a 22 gallon beer tank in the bilge.

Wait a minute.... I haven't run my plumbing to my 22 gallon bilge tank yet... I have to think about this...
