Ever smell your boat?

Just be wandering along and bam... the room your in smells like your boat? A little bit of spilled oil somewhere, a touch of mold, and high humidity.

Just happened to me, quite strange. Then again it could all just be in my head...

Somewhere I read that smell is the sense that requires the least stimuli to evoke the strongest memories. I'm not sure if I worded that the way I read it, but the gist was that it requires less input then the other senses to bring about a full and complete memory. I guess that is why babies can recognize their mother by smell alone. Like you said, a bit of oil, a touch of mold.....

Yep. Just the other day I was using my electric drill that had been on the boat for a week or two. Once that little motor cranked out a breeze, I caught a whiff of Ariel. I almost dropped what I was doing and headed to the boat.
