I've noticed that I seem to have been a little grumpier lately in some of my responses here than usual. I apologize for that.

I'm pretty sure it's because I hadn't gone sailing for more than a week, and because my sailing has been so minimal this season. I get grumpy when I don't get my sailing fix.

I went sailing today for several hours and feel much better, thank you. All is well in the world again. And a 4-week long cruise is just over a week away.

I know what you mean about how being on the water improves ones mood. In may I was sailing on the Chesapake enjoying warm, sunny weather while all my friends here in Maine had lots of rain.

Perhaps it is some sort of seasonal affective disorder, but my whole attitude here in Maine is night and day different between Januarary and July.

Given your multiple moods, and your ever growwing collection of project boats, perhaps you could have one for each mood. You could name them Grumpy, Sleepy etc. Just like the seven dewarfs in Show White (smile)

Just over a week away?! I better get moving if I am going to join the NETA bachelor's cruise :-)

I hope you weren't using the "shroud tension test" on your lifelines or anything like that.

I just held the camera out at arm's length over the side. The cool thing is that it looks like I was even farther out than that.

Tim, how about giving us some fodder of your upcoming cruise.

I have one planned in August for my birthday week. Hoping to head across to the eastern shore to St. Michaels, Oxford, Cambridge, etc. I am already looking forward to it. Yahoo.

We're headed out for 3-4 weeks, Penobscot-Blue Hill-Frenchman Bays. I'll be solo for the first week or so (but in tandem with Dasein and, hopefully, Britton's Prudence), then my wife will arrive for the remaining time.

No big adventurous plans--just several weeks of pure relaxation of the type that, for me, can only be had on the water.

I just realized today that your bilge is probably stocked with every conceivable tool and spare part one could ever dream about. I think I will stick with the original plan of a bilge full of Mt. Gay so as to have ample bargaining chips.

Leaving bright and early Monday morning with the tide. With an overnight (or two) at Isle of Shoals I should be in Falmouth by Tuesday or Wednesday waiting for you guys. Don't be late ;-)
