Amerigo,

Let us know which route you go and how it works out - I'll be replacing all of my running rigging before the year is out.

Well after a lot of research I found the best price at http://mauriprosailing.com/

I am looking at Samson XLS Yacht Braid that is 1.14 a foot for 7/16 and New England Ropes Sta-Set at 0.88 a foot. Doesnt seem like a big difference in price until you add it all up. I need a 117' for main, 133' for genoa and 133' for Spinnaker halyard. Main Sheet and vang I havent figured out yet. I have used samson on other boats but I have never used New England Rope. Has anyone had a good or bad experience with New England Rope? I dont think this is the place to try and save a few bucks but I dont want to spend the extra money if I dont need to. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Rigging Only is by far the cheapest line supplier I've found. They have 7/16" Sta-Set for $.73 and Sta-Set X for $.81/foot. I got new halyards there recently and the whole experience was cheap, quick, and painless. BTW - yes, I used Sta-Set X for the halyards and it has worked well, although it doesn't seem as abrasion-resistant as some other lines.

I'm using 100% New England Rope (mostly because it seems to be ubiquitous at most suppliers), and am generally pleased with it. There used to be a color-fading problem with some of the solid colors, but newer lines have addressed this issue quite nicely.

Go for the NE ropes. It will do just fine.

FWIW, the Samson is also nice line.

For some reason, I always forget about Rigging Only! It's true, though, that their pricing is extremely hard to beat on all rigging items--line, wire, halyards, furlers, and so forth.
