The boat is about 3' from the wall on the port side, or perhaps just a bit closer. It might be a little close for painting, but that's years away at this point. I did want the boat more to one side, as it would help keep more of the bay clear for other uses and what have you. There's enough room to set up staging on all sides, however, for deck work and the like.
She's not as scrunched into the back wall of the bay as it looks either. There's a set of stairs running up that back wall, and I intentionally brought the stern close to the stairs so that I can build a platform right off the stairs for easy access on board during what will be a long rebuilding process.
Perhaps I'll consider moving her more to the middle for final painting when the time comes. By then I hope to have equipment in order to make such a move myself. But for the substantial demolition, prepwork, and most finish work, she's in a great spot.
The short answer is: yes, it's the camera angle!
