An update on my Typhoon project

After taking a month long break from Miranda to work on another project with a bigger deadline, I'm finally closing in on finishing up. As with any project, finish work is taking the most time.

I'm waiting on my husband to finish up his projects at this point. He's in charge of rebuilding the winches (which have to be back in place to hold the coamings), taping the boot stripe and repairing the ball valves.

I'm particularly pleased with how my taffrail came out. The original was split and very worn. Since I'd replaced the rub and toe rails, a new taffrail had to be made. I had a piece of 1" teak resawn to make the correct thickness. The pieces were scarfed together to make one curved piece and then carefully fitted in place. The backstay plate passes through the taffrail and the alignment was a little dicey.
