Hi to all, After sadly saying goodbye to our family friend of many years (cape dory typhoon) it was on to our next project, a fairly rare albin singoalla the larger cousin to the renowned vega. Short term much needed improvements are new starting electrics, and cockpit hatch covers. I will be looking forward to sharing and gaining info as project progresses. here is the new project

I'll echo Jason's remarks, and also add that I (we) would love to SEE more of it! Please post photos if you can.
Do you have the same droolworthy sapele interior that the Vegas have?

Hi, and welcome to a great forum, I dare say the greatest!
Wow ... a BIG Vega! I've seen a smaller one, the Vigen (25' fin keel).
I have a Vega and love it. It's the only boat I've worked on where everything on the port side is the same dimension as the starboard side.

Some Albin Marin trivia:
After a little Googling I found the Albin Singoalla had a production run of only 50 boats.
Albin made a total of 17 different sailboats, as chronicled in these
charts.
The Vega was the most prolific at about 3500 vessels.
Albin Viggen, 1200 units (25' fin keel, skeg rudder)
Albin Vega, 3500 units (27' 3/4 keel, cut away fore foot)
Albin Singoalla, 50 units (34', underbody type?)

Nice boat. I'm not familiar with the Singoalla, but I'm a fan of the Vega. I've never read anything that wasn't positive about the Vega. Because of all the glowing reviews, the Vega was one of the contenders for the top of my short list. If she sails at least as well as a Vega, you have quite a boat there. There is a fellow forumite who has a Vega. You might look him up in a search.
