couple of questions

Well I am about to do something a little crazy and have a few questions. I have made an offer on a boat pending a survey. While a classic in my eyes it is not a sailboat but I hope you guys can still help.
The boat is a 1979 Nauset 27 lobster boat which I plan to restore and turn into a coastal cruiser. I have worked on and around boats my whole life with my latest job giving allowing me the time and money to finally take on a project like this
Here is my problem the boat is six hours away In Ithaca NY and I am having a hard time finding a way of getting it back to southern NH. Was hoping maybe one of you guys had some experiance with boat haulers in this area as well as personal experience with surveyors in the area so I do not just have to pick one randomly off the internet My Local Hauler does not really want to make this trip.

Nice looking boat. Have you tried Uship before. You can post the load and various shippers will bid on it.

Well I haven't tried Uship before, but I am in the process of trying it now. Since Bolero sits on a brand new Triad trailer Uship seemed like a good idea. Here are some screen shots of my recent Uship shippment.

One of the things that quickly impressed me was the quality of the inquires that I received from the prospective bidders. I sort of got the impression that these guys and gals are driving with their laptops open on the dashboard responding while they drive :).

I received a number of bids with plenty of informative comunication. In the end I pick a shipper (boats) that was between my high and low bids. They are a husband and wife team and have been easy to work with. They have perfect customer feedback and he ships cross county to the Pacific Northwest often (he actually called me as he was driving past the freeway exit to my ferry terminal).

Obviously the June 23rd shipping date didn't happen but it was no problem rescheduling, or more accurately postponing. Which reminds me, It may be time to check in with them about scheduling.

As I mentioned I can't give a final verdict yet but so far I have been impressed with this service and the shipper I chose. Time will tell and I will add an update after delivery.

How are things going with the shipping of your vessel. Did you get things worked out?
