Does anyone know if round sanding blocks exist? There are times I would like to do a little hand sanding with a block. I have a few of the nice little rectangular ones but I have a nice stash of hook and loop 5 inch round sanding disks.
I googled and found this.
But no real source. Has anyone seen a source for this type of block? Or am I missing something and you would never want such a thing?
I don't know for sure why the round blocks are less common, but looking at Drew's photo made me think/realize that that long style would probably be a lot more comfortable to hold.
Of course a round pad could have a rectangular handle knobby bit, but with a round pad on a hand sander you might be a bit limited in going up alongside edges? I mean, since your hand tends to go back-and-forth and not round-'n'-round.
I haven't used a hand sander with a round pad, but I tent to think I'd prefer the long style with the round pad wrapped around a rectangular block (which I have used).
