Insurance
I am about to launch my boat, this is my first boat and am admitidly ignorant about a few important things like insurance. I will be doing extensive world travel for the forseeable future, anyone have thoughts on a company? Thanks

Re: Insurance
I think you're going to find that getting insurance coverage for what you intend to do will be expensive at best and unobtainable at worst.
That said, there are companies that offer choices for voyagers (for a price). I imagine your best resource for that sort of information might be the SSCA and its members.

Re: Insurance
Tim's basically right, in my experience.
However, we don't really know what kind of insurance you're seeking, and where you will be traveling extensively.
A couple of random bits:
1) If you are seeking liability only (which some marinas require or which you might simply want), then that is a bit easier to get. I haven't tried to get it for a home-built boat (if your Roberts is such), but I was able to easily obtain it for an older boat (1962). I got it through Progressive over the phone/online. It did not cover environmental clean-up, but did satisfy the marina.
2) Other factors that make it more difficult to get insurance are "going foreign," sailing in hurricane zones in season, going long distance with short crew, and/or inexperienced skipper or crew. Not sure if you fit into any of these categories or not. When I was long-distance cruising we didn't have insurance - it was impossible to find anything reasonable, so we took our chances without full coverage. I'm not recommending that; only telling you that many long-distance cruisers either have no insurance or liability-only because it is either difficult or expensive to get, and seems to have a lot of loopholes.
I did hear good things about Pantaenius from other cruisers, so you might try them:
