GPS with a Mac

Anyone interfacing a GPS unit with a Powerbook? Is a bluetooth unit the way to go? What's a good software package for the Mac? Can't beat the small size of the my 12" PB.

I haven't found a great package yet. To that end I ended up picking up an old beater PC expressly for onboard nav. Plus, then I really don't care if it goes ker-Plunk!

Plus, then I can work on the website while Heather is navigating with the other one! ;-P

I'd be interested in what you find re: mac-based nav/gps packages though.

I have been playing with the demos of GpsNavX and MacENC (same company) for a few days now. Let's start by saying that NavX is $60 and Enc is $100. I am finding them easy to use and interface with my Garmin76 and 12"PB with 10.4.4. Sure there's room for improvement, but I have rasters and encs for $160...that's a pretty good deal in my book. There are lots of features like radar and weather interfacing which I'm sure is standard on most high end nav software. I forgot to mention that both programs are universal binary, and there is a great forum at www.macsailing.net. I think this is a no brainer for mac users. Oh, on that forum someone pointed out that there is a weather buoy widget for tiger...sweet!
