I am starting to wonder about what effect, if any, all the holes in my boom might have on its integrity. Six indecisive owners making rigging mods to the boom and now a 7th indecisive owner making simialr mods... such as changing the lazy jacks position, new reefing system, etc. One thought I had was to have my welder spot weld over the holes. TX for thoughts.
Cheers,
Clint

Little or none. All spars are full of holes--tangs, wiring, internal halyards, fasteners, and so forth. Nothing to worry about, other than cosmetically.tartan30cirrus wrote:I am starting to wonder about what effect, if any, all the holes in my boom might have on its integrity.
