Drive shaft

I have removed my motor driveshaft, and found that it is worn where it goes through the stuffing box. It is stainless and does not leak as long as I keep the stuffing box fairly tight. I was wondering where would be a good place to order a new one.

A hearty ditto for that recommendation! Tom was extremely helpful and informative with my propeller sizing situation of late, and they provided my new stainless shaft last year. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.

Of course, Tom and the crew at H&H in Brunswick, ME might be wondering why they're getting calls from Wisconsin! But Tom is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgable, to be sure.

When I was getting shafting for the daysailor up there last summer, Tom actually mentioned how he had been contacted by someone in Florida who found a reference to H&H on one of my websites. He thought that was sort of amusing.

You might try Propulsion Associates in Hudson, Wisconsin. They're nice people to work with, and knowledgeable.. I can't remember right now if they do shafts (they specialize in props), but if by chance they don't, they will surely recommend someone.
