Tiny bubbles

Post by David VanDenburgh »

As far as I can tell, my Alberg 30's hull is pigmented gelcoat - robin's egg blue. I just noticed what appear to be tiny bubbles where the winter cover contacted the hull. I've heard of such things with an Awl-Gripped hull, but never with gel coat. Either the hull is, in fact, painted - which if it is, it sure looks a heck of a lot like gel coat - or there's something quirky about gel coat that's new to me. Any ideas?

Thanks,

David

That can happen with gelcoat, especially when the cover has been tightly in place for some time. But it's more common with paint under the same circumstances.
