How much paint for an ensign?

I know you have done this before, so I figured I'de ask you. How much paint did you use for you ensign? I will likely need three or so coats on the bottom due to the fact that I am stripping it down to gel coat. I'm just curious. I'm trying to come up with a rough cost estimate for the project.

You can get one thin (thin!) coat on an Ensign bottom with about a quart of paint, but only if really trying to stretch it to match the supply at hand!

I would recommend you either buy a gallon and paint till it's gone (or until you get the amount you want on the bottom), or buy two gallons and plan on using the leftover in subsequent years. You can probably get three coats out of a gallon--definitely two solid coats.
