Grab rails

Post by windrose »

Windrose's old grab rails were badly checked/split on the back portion of each side.... I am thinking of cutting the damaged ends off and mounting the good portion of them in the cabin.... thru the coach roof and hiding the mounting bolts under the back portion of the seats for each new grab rail by simply drilling a hole towards the back on the "seat" of the new grab rails on the top of the coach roof. This will mean I have two holes in close proximity of each other .... probably about an inch apart... do you think this would weaken the attachment points too much?

Why not screw directly through and into the new rail with only a single screw, thereby securing both rails at once, and in the center of each mounting area? Or maybe I don't quite understand.
