Barrier Coat and Blisters

I removed 24 years worth of bottom paint off my Ty this winter via sharp scraper and a careful tedious technique. I must say that method worked well with the only exception being this tingling feeling in my lower vertebrae. After close inspection I noticed there were a few small areas with the infamous pimple-sized blisters, maybe 100 in total. Is barrier coating over them an option or should each blister be drilled and filled first. I have read so much about blisters on the internet that my eyes have blisters. The range of answers to this problem is astounding. I would appreciate some real-world advice from this wonderful board about what has been done in the past and how that has worked. Would barrier coating over a few patches of these things be creating more work for me in the future? I am concerned about doing it right, but like most people my boat time units are limited before spring launch. Advice as always is appreciated. Tim

Hi Tim. Welcom to The Forum. Beautiful boat. I keep seeing abandoned Typhoons around and I think "boy, that would make a fun project".

Blisters and barrier coatings have come up many times in the last couple of years that I have been watching this forum. As you say, there are a lot of opinions out there and most of them have been posted here at one time or another. Try the "search" feature and I think you will find there is enough material to keep you reading for quite a long time.

I notice you are right around the corner from me too. Would those pictures be coming from the Plum Island Sound?
