New Traveler advise

I need to replace the old Kenyon traveler on our Paceship 26. The traveler track is mounted in recess groove across the bridge deck. The recess is about 1 3/4 wide 1 1/2" deep. I would perfer that the new travel track stay flush with deck level as is the case with the kenyon. But it looks like most traveler cars wont fit in recess, Harken, Lewmar and Garhauer, is what I have looked at. Am I incorrect in this assumation? Has anyone replace simiral set up?

Right. the newer systems are oriented toward a fatter, though shorter, profile.

You might be able to pick up a good used unit that will fit your application. Lots of hardware coming off of hurricane boats these days.

What's wrong with the current installation that's prompting you to replace it?

The bearings on existing car are trashed, Grooves wore in sides of car, sheaves on control lines trashed, cracked and frozen, track is wore also. Generally the thing is scrap. It didnt work very well last season but we muddle through.
