Viadana blocks

Post by Peter »

SailCare is selling a line of Italian made hardware by Viadana. It looks similar to Harken. It's listed on their catalog page
http://www.sailcare.com/newcatalog/LGSH ... exLG.shtml

Does anyone on the Forum have experience with this hardware?
Thanks!
Peter

Peter,

I purchased two triple blocks for my backstay adjuster this year. They work fine on my boat and for the type of sailing/racing I do. I don't know how they perform in a salt water sailing environment.

Sail reconditioning

Post by bhartley »

We had Ariel's main (original 1975 vintage) reconditioned by them along with a few minor repairs. It has made a huge difference in how she sails (and looks). I'm sure new would be even better, but its just not in the budget.

We polled quite a few people before sending the main off and they were still pleased after 3-5 years. Bacon (sail broker) won't take them however.

Sounds good. I read good things about the process, but it was on their site... Glad to hear you had good results as well. My sails are in good shape right now, but who knows what my next boat will have. Good, also, to hear that 3-5 years later people are still happy. Maybe Bacon does know how to rate them in terms of condition.
