Really Silly, Inconsequential Pet Peeves

Post by Tim »

This will be a silly thread, but what the hey.

One thing that drives me crazy is when people tape off their bottom paint, or boottop, or whatever, and don't take care of this annoying little "point" where the tape naturally curves upwards at the stem (and sometimes aft, too). This area needs to be taped so that the line appears to cross the rounded stem horizontally.

Tim,
I must agree with you. I have seen where the stripes have been extended like a duck tail to the stern to make it 'look' good. Or one of the best was where one side of the stripe was higher than the other and the futz occurred at the stern to bring the whole thing together. Awful zigzag! What about the lines going concave or convex relative to the sight line along the hull?

Hope this finds you down-easters closer to the water!

Cheers,
Ian
