Seems that i recently bought the molds to this boat and 2 others
Gloucester 22
Laguna 26
and this one Originally marketed as a Laguna 33
Both the laguna's where also marketed as Classic 26 and 33
We will be bringing the 22 back into production first

My boat was dry-docked next to a Laguna 26 several years ago. Don't know anything about its sailing or construction qualities, but it was a LOT of 26 foot boat. The owner said he bought it cuz the missus liked the cabin, and I can't blame her. I peeked inside and it had more accommodation than most 30 footers. Decent deck hardware. I remember that much.

Congrats, and let me know when you're profitably building sailboats and need employees...

I really like my 33. It seems quite large for its size also. Friday I am going to buy teak and holly plywood for the cabin sole. I am also planning on putting teak plywood on everything from the cushions down. That part of the boat will never look good without covering it. Its just to large of an expanse of white(tan). The rest of the white (tan) areas are broken up enough with the teak strips that it looks fine! This has turned into a much larger project than I thought when i first bought the boat!

It has been a long cold winter but things are starting to warm up so its back to the grindstone!

I used Epifanes clear Gloss on top of the Teak and Holly 1/4 Plywood.
Nathan did most of the cutting!
Then for the last coat I used Interlux Polymeric Non Skid additive.
Feels Like 800 grit sandpaper.First impression seems it might get dirty, But we will see!

Started putting down non-skid on the deck today. I am using dynel and squeezing as much of the epoxy out as possible. This leaves a pretty rough surface that I am sure will smooth out a little one it is painted. Scott (Invitation) told me to wait untill the epoxy has started to kick and then trim the cloth and peel up the excess. Not sure if I am waiting quite long enough, still a little ragged around the edges. Its getting really close to paint time!

Put on the first coat of primer yesterday. Lesson of the day ... Have a backup compressor handy!. Made it about 10 minutes b-4 I started having problems . 400.00 paint gun loaded with paint and and a 30 minute drive to get a new one. Had about 4 spots that needed sanded this morning. Mostly drips from when the compressor started acting up. After the new compressor it is drip free. Will post pics later today after the second coat.

Oops forgot! The new compressor ran for 10 minutes then died. Had just finished running through that can of paint and had enough pressure to clean out the gun. And then another trip back to Home depot. Sure seams the quality of Rigid tools has gone down hill. The last few rigid tools I have bought have not held up well.

ok second coat is on. a couple of drips to be sanded tonight and the plan is for oyster white to go on tomorrow

Ok she is white and shiney as can be! Just a couple of drips. Most of them will be covered by wood trim anyways. If I tried to make everything perfect she would never go in the water! I used dynel and drug out as much epoxy as possible for non skid. They had me use grey for the primer to make it easier to tell when I had good coverage with the white. In hind sight I wish I had brushed white into those areas first as I am having a difficult time getting the little holes to fill in enough to not see any grey. Guess I will brush those spots since it isn't supposed to be smooth it isn't a problem!

Man I'm jealous of that anchor locker. I frequently kick myself for not coming up with something like that when I recored my deck.

Nice Job! I am planning on eventually doing my decks and there are so many shades of white, I can't tell which ones are towards beige and which toward gray. Is the Oyster White slightly gray?

It is almost a pearl white. Very white, I hear your complaints and getting a color chart has proven impossible for me. I thought I was getting a creamy white!
