My Swede came with a squeeze type fuel primer bulb (like you would see on an outboard) in the fuel system before the secondary racor fuel filter (IE between the tank and the filter). I suppose it's an easy way to prime the fuel system, but is it legal? Should I remove the thing or leave it in? (There is no electric fuel pump, only the engine's lift pump and primary pump.)
Thanks,
Noah

Those primer bulbs are very handy. You should keep it. There's nothing to prohibit its use with a diesel installation. Following some unworthy advice, I removed the bulb I had in my fuel system years ago; I miss it, and now that I think of it I don't know why I haven't reinstalled it.
The cheap band-type clamps that often come on these bulbs aren't very good, so you might consider changing those. And if you doubt the bulb at all, buy a new one.
