Engine Mount Choices

Post by catamount »

Any preference for mounts from Bushings Inc, Globe Rubber Works, PYI-R&D, or other?

This is for a Yanmar 2QM15G (14 hp, ~350 lbs)...

How about the appropriate Yanmar flex mounts? They're very soft, so you need (ideally) the rubber flex coupling along with them.

I did a lot of searching earlier this year for mounts. I went with the PYI-R&D mounts and have been happy with them for my Perkins 4-108.

Most recommended the Bushings, Inc. mounts, but when I got them, I just wasn't impressed with them-- that and they were crooked to start with.

The downside of the PYI mounts are:

1: they are tall! (which in my case was a bonus)
2. They are expensive! - but for a once every 10 year project, I could live with it.
