JACK STANDS

Post by vindo40 »

I am considering moving my boat to my back yard to continue the reparations so I can stop paying the boat yard for space. Does somebody know where I can buy 4 jack stands?

One option is to buy them new directly from the manufacturer. They ship direct. Link: Brownell Boat Stands

There are other companies that manufacture jackstands too. Brownell is certainly prevalent around here, and I like their stands much better than others I have seen, but they're not necessarily the only option.

Or see if your local yards sell them. Most yards, if they use jackstands, also sell them, either new or used. If you have a boat hauler in mind for moving your boat to your house, see if they sell the stands. Many do.

Or check your local sell/swap rag for used ones; there's a lively market for used stands here in the northeast, but I don't know about your area. But it seems that you can never find a set of used stands exactly when you need them; they tend to pop up right after you've already bought others.

You'll need at least 5 stands: 2 on each side, plus a V-top bow stand.

When it comes to moving boats around and making them stay put on the hard Brownell is hard to beat. We just got our new Brownell radio controlled boat mover a couple weeks ago. You can either drive it like always, or operate every feature including driving by a remote control. Heads turn in cars when our H&L operator sends it down the street by remote.
