42 ft fiberglass Yawl. This boat is for sale, also the website has lots of nice pictures.

Nice boat! But...

Post by Rachel »

That's a beautiful boat - I'm a sucker for the Rhodes sheer line.

But (rant alert!), WHY do folks advertise boats for sale without ... the price! Hello? I hate this and almost always refuse to contact the sellers who don't list price (on boats that would probably be in my price range - obviously not this one).

From this Bounty's web ad page:
"Sea Yawl" is felt to be a sound investment which should hold her value for years to come.
Hmmm, wouldn't a PRICE fit in really well somewhere in the vicinity of this statement?

Okay, I'll have to retract this if the price IS on the site somewhere - but I couldn't find it. And besides, this rant includes ALL the sellers who don't list price in their ads :-)

Rant is now over.

I question whether the boat is actually for sale or not. I saw no real indication that the boat was for sale, and that this was just not the owner's showcase for the improvements he's made to his beautiful boat.

Well, there's not a lot of indication is there? I do see a link in the lower-right corner of the first page called "tell other boat buyers." I supposed that was a way to mail the pages to others who might want to buy the boat if "you" didn't.

But you're right, I just went there assuming it was for sale.

Now if there were a price ... ;-)

For more background on these boats see http://astro.temple.edu/~bstavis/pr/bounty.htm

This site also has information on the Pearson Rhodes 41 (same mold) as well as listing some other boats for sale.
