Question: Best way to get stuff done?

Answer: Slave Labor!

Poor Britton innocently came to Maine today to pick up a part for his boat but Tim and I both had plenty of work for him to do when he got here!

I find the above post to be in very poor taste. While I am a proponent of slave labor (assuming the slave is mostly willing and vaguely competent), its important to clothe your slaves properly. Those socks are inexcusable, particularly in Maine. How do you expect to get your bottom sanded if he's lost his toes to frostbite?

- Sorry for the cheap shot Britton :)

Well, I see how it is then...

Nathan can't find the time to post pictures of his new beautiful boat but he has the time to brag about how he can con innocent bystanders into doing his messy work (and I should emphasize the "messy" part).

Had I known I was soon to be famous I would have worn my Sunday socks. The colors don't match but at least the holes are in front where they don't show as much.

And to think that I arrived with a dozen freshly baked chocolate glazed donuts too. This is the thanks I get...

While there are no pictures to prove his presence in this case, I'd like to extend my personal thanks to Britton for his help in installing my three through hulls on the Daysailor--another messy and thankless job.

5200 on the Daysailor...butyl caulk on Dasein. Messy all around!

But the chocolate donuts were excellent.

Britton, come on over when you sail up to Maine for Mt. Gays in the evening and egg sandwiches/corned beef hash in the mornings! Mmmm....this is why we go through the pains of restoration!

PS--you should have seen the views I chose NOT to photograph! The holy socks were only the half of it. Plumbers beware.

I hope Britton realized that this tongue in cheek post was supposed to be a "Thanks, man!"

Hehe, even the one's you did take had to be culled through carefully!

Do I really look that dense?

Don't answer that...

Anytime man, anytime. I much prefer to watch the master(s) at work and learn what not to do as much as what to do. I think I will reposition the "rebed saloon ports" item further down on the list.

Britton I'm glad to see that your Maine trip yielded more entertainment than your CT trip. Isn't that always the way?

Nathan, are your deadlight frames aluminum, or is that just flash-out in the photo?

mmmmmmchocklatedonuts.

Mike,

All the ports are aluminum. It was in pretty bad condition, so after my powder coat guy said he wouldn't touch 'em I decided to Awlgrip. That's silver Awlgrip on them now. Looks pretty nice. I almost don't mind anymore that they aren't bronze....

Stop having so much fun and get back to ......er, um, "work"! They call this work? Oh yeah, that's right, WORK!

YAHOO! Looks like I've been promoted, I'm almost a finish carpenter (named Hatchet, nonetheless).... I gotta go get back to.... er, um... work, yes work, that's it!

Yeah, the secret ingredient was the donuts. I will bring some down to CT next time :-) The silver ports really compliment the boot stripe and provide a definite color symmetry like bronze ports never could.

I note the following rule and demand immediate action:
Inappropriate posts will be deleted by the moderator.
The offense was the forbidden word. I cannot repeat it but can quote the offensive text:
Stop having so much fun and get back to ......er, um, "work"
and again:
nonetheless).... I gotta go get back to.... er, um... work, yes work
I count three offenses.

I demand immediate action against this vulgar infraction of the stated and unstated laws.

Work is indeed a four-letter word. I try to never do any.
