Silly head design question

Here is a silly one.

I haven't had the pleasure of requesting a pump out yet so I was thinking about how I would route my future pump out hosefrom the head tank and I realized I didn't know if the pump out boat hose is flexible or rigid usually. When I lay in line for pumping out the head tank (that I hope I never use but one never knows...) do I need to keep it straight for a rigid line to go down or can it follow the hull curvature? Or does the hose from the pump out boat just sit on top of the deck fitting and sucks really hard?

The hose connects to the deck fitting and "sucks really hard", to quote your eloquent prose.
