The Internet Lives Again

Post by Tim »

Well, nearly 5 weeks after moving from North Yarmouth to Whitefield, we finally got our Internet access yesterday. The whole process was so ridiculous that it would take me half the morning to explain, but in any event I am thrilled to have my broadband connection back, and my computer at my new desk rather than 60 miles away at my old one.

So my weeks of relative quiet on the forum are over...sorry, Britton: the rooster's back to rule the coop now! hehe

That must've felt like five ETERNAL weeks.
We had a 12-hour blackout earlier this week. It was as though the sky had fallen.

Darn, I guess my free wheelin', power grabbing, off-topic run-on posting days are over... for now.

I suppose too, that my relative inactivity is not going to go unnoticed for very much longer :-(

Welcome back.

Geez, are you guys sailors of tecno geeks? (smile)

I'm in Jamaica crewing on a 47 foot sailboat leaving for Guatamalia tomorrow. At sea the best we will have is ham radio with Airmail for e-mail.

The marina here at Port Antonio does have free high speed internet access however.

So Tim, does this mean that your next boat project will come with satellite dishes for high speed internet at sea?
