Here she is after last Sat awl grip on the topsides- we've been told we need fuzzy fender covers- we're going in tomorrow. Can we use the reg vinyl fenders or do we need the fuzzy covers ( not available in 1960)?

We are wicked excited!!!!

Mmmmm, Gorgeousness in the form of an Alden Challenger.

I don't know if you need fuzzy fender covers, but I don't think I'd want anything else bumping up against those topsides. If you don't have immediate access to something like "Boat Blanket" fabric from Sailrite, you could probably buy some cheap fleece at a fabric store or a "Large"-Mart and quickly cover your fenders for less than $20.

Can we see belowdecks?

Get the fuzzy covers. It's worth the one-time expense to save that pricey paint. Get the nice fleece ones and pamper that paint job the way it deserves. They make a difference.

Plain fenders can easily mar the gloss. And the cheap fender covers are just that: cheap. The fleece ones work great, and you'll only buy them once. Do it. Of course, if you don't care what happens to the paint...

Dark color topsides are so unforgiving of even the slightest marks and scratches.

Well we have some fuzzies on order- promise we won't keep them in those fender racks up on the bow.

In the meantime we launched w/ some home made ones- cut up an old velor blanket and duct taped them around the fenders- work great and actually look quite snappy!
